Hypnosis has been used for decades to assist people in all types of habit or lifestyle change. The
most common examples of such change include smoking cessation, nail biting, and tics. In
addition, hypnosis has been used successfully to help increase consistency in exercise and in
managing stress, increasingly identified as an important components in preserving and enhancing
health. Hypnosis has been generally used in helping change patterns of compulsive and
destructive behavior regardless of the type of behavior and even when the behavior is
thoroughly entrenched.
